Mackay Airport
2001 saw the Mackay Aiport seeking for a CCTV system as a result of the Queensland Government's security upgrade mandate for all ports. Comtech Mackay won the tender for the supply, installation and ongoing servicing of the Aiport's CCTV equipment.
A combination of fibre and CAT cabling was used to install 90+ cameras.
Mackay Seaport
In 2003 an Australian wide mandate was issed for the increase in port security. Mackay Seaport issued tenders for the establishment of a site wide security system consisting of CCTV, access control and communications.
Comtech Mackay won the tender and installed a complete CCTV system, access control with communications including security gates all of which was run on fibre optic cable.
The majority of the original equipment supplied and installed is still in use 10 years later after experiencing ongoing sea front salinity and numerous severe weather events.

In 2013 the Mackay Showgrounds issued a tender for the Stage 2 expansion package which was inclusive of CCTV installation.
